Born here, I had never questioned it before, but meeting many clients who have recently arrived full of questions, I questioned myself.
Each area has its strengths and weaknesses.
The whole area, from Collonges to St Jean de Gonville, has developed thanks to the emergence of local shops, doctors, dining spots, accompanied by new constructions in a reasonable quantity.
The sector's strengths:
The weaknesses:
Then there is St Genis whose population has doubled in a few years with the arrival of new significant real estate programs.
A city surrounded by villages:
With few shops except for Thoiry which has a shopping center of more than 60 shops with other large stores around as well as a developed center.
The advantages are numerous: the promise of living peacefully, close to nature with the benefit of a magnificent view of the Alps, Mont Blanc, and Lake Geneva if one takes a little height. These are very welcoming and pleasant small agglomerations to live in.
Thanks to the F bus line, it is possible to go from Gex to Ferney to finish its route at Geneva Cornavin station. A route facilitated by the rapid line passing through:
The first as well as the last are generally very appreciated or not at all. It's necessary to visit them to realize their specificities, populated by 13,000 and 10,000, each has various shops, supermarkets, restaurants, doctors, schools...
As for the others, they correspond to small, peaceful, and practical towns.
We could also mention PRÉVESSIN-MOËNS, one of the points of the Golden Triangle along with Ferney-Voltaire and Ornex as they are located very close to the border.
It attracts many families to residential areas, served by public transportation. It is located between Ferney and St Genis, on the border of Meyrin (CH).
Finally, I will finish with Divonne-Les-Bains and its surroundings:
It is very appreciated by vacationers because of its thermal baths, its lake, and its very relaxing spirit and also pleases families with the presence of several schools up to middle school, its events and associations, the lake, and the playgrounds for children.
I invite you to visit the websites of each municipality to learn more about the living environment and existing events.
